We've updated the process to email and print Giving Statements to provide a more seamless experience.
Specifically, statements are generated in the background so you can keep working, you'll receive email notifications once statements are ready, and statement downloads are now accessed within in-app Notifications.
Important: Permission changes may be needed for non-admin users.
Because Giving Statement downloads are now accessed within in-app Notifications, non-admin users who need these must be granted permission to View Admin Messages. Learn more below.
What's Changed?
Keep Working While Statements Generate.
- When you email or print giving statements, you're no longer taken to a Giving Statement screen where you must 'remain on screen' while statements are generated.
Instead, you'll simply see a message indicating your statements are being generated in the background. Go ahead and jump to your next task! You're now free to move around the cabin. ✈️😉
You'll Receive Email and In-App Notifications When Statements are Ready.
- Once your statements have been generated (or emailed), you'll be notified via your primary email and an in-app notification
(the bell icon in the top-right corner).
Download Statements and Labels from the in-App Notification Message.
- Links to download your statements and mailing labels are now found within the in-app notification message. (Previously, download links appeared on the Giving Statement Page.)
Statements Generate Faster.
- We optimized our systems so that your giving statements are generated much more quickly than before.
While the process may still take some time if you have many donors, get ready for a speed boost! 🚀
Why Did We Make These Changes?
We listened—and we’re grateful for your feedback! Your suggestions on the Giving Statement process have been incredibly helpful.
Essential software processes should be simple and stress-free — especially for tasks as common as year-end giving statements.
Here’s how the new updates make things easier for your ministry:
- Work Without Waiting: Continue other tasks while statements are generated in the background.
- Stay Informed: Completion emails and in-app notifications let you know precisely when statements are ready.
- Easy Access: In-app notifications provide a permanent download location for quick retrieval anytime.
- Faster and More Reliable: Statements generate more quickly, and we’ve resolved issues that occasionally caused errors when running statements.
PS: Keep your ears to the ground; we expect to make further improvements throughout this year. 😊

- Click on the Roles tab.
- Click on the Pencil icon to edit the Security Role for whoever runs your Giving Statements.
- Under the System heading, ensure that View Admin Messages is checked.
- At the bottom right, click Save.
FAQs
Generating Individual Statements: Did anything change?
No. When you generate or email a giving statement from an individual's Profile Screen, the process works the same way as before. (For more, see Print or Email an Individual's Giving Statement).
I Didn't Receive a Notification Email
It's possible the email was caught in your spam or junk folder. Here are two ways to find it:
- Search via Subject Line: Look for an email with a subject titled, "[Your Organization Name] Giving Statement Report."
- Search via From Address: The "from" address will be [Your Organization Name] <"noreply@[your-chms-brand-here].com>."
Alternatively, check in-app notifications (the bell icon). Once Giving Statements are generated, you'll see a message titled "Giving Statement Report."
Confirmation Email: Clicking View Statements displays a Permission Denied Screen
If you see a Permission Denied screen after you click the View Statements button within the Giving Statement notification email (above), your user profile does not have permission to View Admin Messages.
Please contact an administrator at your organization to request the appropriate permissions (instructions above).
