Group Finder

Use the Group Finder to help your community members find and join groups based on their interests and location. You can also allow members to request membership or add themselves to a group directly.

Note: Adding a Group Image is not yet available. This feature is coming soon.

Configure Groups for the Group Finder

For more on group settings, see All Group Properties.

  1. Select the Groups tab in the sidebar.
  2. Click the Pencil icon Pencil Edit Icon next to the group you want to add to the Group Finder.
  3. Expand the Group Information section and complete the following fields:
    • Name of Group (Required)
    • Image Upload (Optional)
    • Description (Optional)
    • Leader(s) (Optional)
    • Meeting Address (Optional, but recommended for location filtering)
    • Meeting Day and Time (Optional, but recommended for day/time filtering)
  4. Enable at least one of the following options so the group appears in the Group Finder:
    • Allow individuals to request to join the group: The person is not added automatically. Instead, the Group Leader receives an email to approve or decline the request.
    • Allow individuals to add themselves (self-enroll): Clicking Join automatically adds the person to the group. The Group Leader(s) also receive an email notification when someone joins.

  1. Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your changes.

 

Configure the Group Finder

  1. Click the Settings icon Settings Gear Icon, select Settings, then select the Groups tab.
  2. Click Group Finder.
  3. Select Enable, then choose the Group Properties (categories) to use as filter options and set any other preferences.
    • Pro Tip: Group Properties let you tag groups for easy filtering, reports, mass communication, and more.

  4. Click Save at the bottom of the page to apply your Group Finder settings.

 

Embed the Group Finder on Your Website

Note: The embed code is provided as-is and cannot be modified beyond the settings above. The look and feel of the Group Finder is largely pre-defined.

  1. Click the Settings icon Settings Gear Icon, select Settings, then select the Groups tab.
  2. Click Group Finder.
  3. Copy the Website Embed Code at the bottom of the page and paste it into your website.

Note: The embed code cannot be pasted as standard text. In your website editor, select View Source and then paste the embed code.
