Browser-Based Check-In

Browser-Based Check-In, also known as Kiosk Mode, lets staff and volunteers check in attendees directly from a web browser without installing a dedicated application. This method is intended for attended stations only and should not be used on unattended, standalone check-in stations.

Tip: For the simplest experience on a computer, use the Desktop Check-In App for Windows or Mac.

How to run Browser-Based Check-In

  1. In People, navigate to Attendance > Check-In.
  2. Select a Check-In Station by name, or open it in Kiosk Mode.
  3. Follow the FIRST... prompt to download the Label Printer application and save it to the computer.
  4. Once downloaded, run the Label Printer application.
  5. Select the printer for the device and click Set Printer. Then select the same station chosen in step 2 and click Set Station.
  6. Leave the Label Printer application open and return to the browser window.
  7. Select Continue To Check-In to begin taking attendance.

Note: These steps must be repeated each time you launch browser Check-In. Close the Label Printer application at the end of each session once you are done printing labels.

Check in a person

  1. Search for the parent or guardian checking in the child using a partial first or last name, the last four digits of a phone number, or another available search option. (Search options are determined by your station settings.) Press Tab or click the name to select it.
  2. The system displays the linked family members available to check in.
  3. For each person being checked in, confirm that Smart Check-In has selected the correct group. To change the group, click Choose Group and select the correct group from the modal.
  4. Click Submit to finalize the check-in.
