Placing a background check is an important part of keeping your church or organization safe. Fortunately, ordering a background check is quick and easy.
Important: All background check applicants must have an email in People prior to ordering a background check.
Applicant Selection
Background checks can be ordered for an individual or for multiple applicants at once.
Individual Order
To place an order for one applicant, navigate to that person's profile and click the Order Background Check button on the right side of the profile screen.
Bulk/Group Order
To place an order for multiple applicants at once, it is recommended to first place the individuals in a group (if they are not already). Next, while viewing the group members, select the checkbox next to each name, then click the three-dot icon and choose Order Background Check(s).
Choose a Background Check Option
Whether you are ordering one or several background checks, you will next see a pop-up window listing the background check types available to your organization. Make a selection and click Next.
Applicant Email
Each applicant will receive an email asking them to provide additional information, such as their Social Security number, and consent to the background check.
While the body of the email is not customizable, you may click the + Custom Message button to add a brief message at the bottom of the email.
Notice there is an optional Billing Reference Code field. This is solely for your record-keeping. A potential use case is if you have multiple departments requesting background checks: you could enter "Children" as the reference code for this order and "Student" as the reference for another order. Your monthly report will show how many checks were ordered with each reference code.
Click the Next button.
Place Order
Next, you must agree by clicking the checkbox. Click the Order Background Check button.
Applicant's Experience
After agreeing to the legal disclaimer and submitting the order, applicants will soon receive emails requesting additional information from Protect My Ministry. Applicants must click the link in the email:
Once the link is clicked, the applicant will have to agree to the legal disclaimer:
The applicant will then fill out and submit their personal information.
